In our opinion, there’s nothing quite as sexy as a boyfriend or girlfriend who knows how to cook. You know what they say – the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach!

In this article, we’ve rounded up a few recipes that even the most amateur of home cooks will find manageable. You’re welcome!

#1 Three Ingredient Cookies


Quite possibly the easiest cookies you’ll ever make (bonus: minimal clean up!)

Mash up 2 large bananas and combine with one cup of oatmeal, and as many chocolate chips as you’d like. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and scoop your cookies out on to parchment paper before transferring into the oven. Bake for approximately 16 minutes. This makes 30 cookies.

#2: Peanut Butter Bars


Combine 3/4 cup butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of brown sugar until it is consistent. Add 3 cups of quick cooking oats and stir. Spoon half of the mixture into a dish.

In another dish, microwave 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and stir. Spoon the mixture on top of the oatmeal mix, and then add the remaining oatmeal on top. Lastly, drizzle any additional chocolate you have on top, and put it in the freezer for two to three hours.

#3: Mussels with Pesto


Also known as Moules et frites, this dish originated from Belgium and is highly popular in France. Which automatically makes it sexy, because, y’know, France.

Heat the oven to 425° F. Toss 2 pounds russet potatoes (cut into 1/4 inch thick sticks), 4 garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 3/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper on a rimmed baking sheet. Roast the potatoes for 30 to 35 minutes. Turn them once, and wait until they are golden brown and crisp.

When the potatoes have 5 minutes left to cook, boil 1 cup dry white wine in a large pot. Add 2 pounds of scrubbed mussels to the pot, and cover. Simmer the mussels until they open, which will take around 3 – 4 minutes.

Mix 1/2 cup pesto into the cooking liquid. Serve with piping-hot oven fries.

#4: Grilled Shrimp Skewers


Looks all fancy-schmancy, but you’ll be surprised at how simple the recipe is.

Heat the grill to medium-high. In a medium bowl, toss 1 1/2 pounds of peeled and deveined large shrimp, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 teaspoons of herbes de Provence, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

Thread the shrimp with 8 skewers (soak the skewers if they are wooden). Grill the shrimp, uncovered, until the shrimp is cooked thoroughly. For an estimate, it will take about 3 – 4 minutes per side.

#5: Strawberry Sorbet With Balsamic Syrup

We’re a huge fan of working smart, not working hard – in this case, it means taking a shortcut by using store-bought sorbet, but making the dish your own with a super yummy homemade balsamic syrup.

In a small skillet, boil 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar until it is reduced by half. It will take 3 – 4 minutes; let it cool.

Divide 1 pint strawberry sorbet into several bowls. Top with 1 quart hulled and chopped strawberries, then drizzle balsamic syrup over the top of the sorbet.

Even if you do not have the culinary skills of Nigella Lawson or Jamie Oliver, these five recipes will be sure to endear you to your bae’s heart!
